It's been one of those days.
I can't find anything, I'm fat finggerring the keyboard,
I knocked my coffee over on a very important
document, the copy machine is streaking everything, I can't get a dial tone
on the fax machine, my
keeeyboard is sticking, the light in my cube burned out, then my pen ran out
of ink, my wife called and
her car won't start, the battery in my cell phone died in the middle of a very
important call, I'm fifteen
minutes late for a meeting that I am supposed to be leading for a large client,
my word document that I
had spent two hours on just disappeared, the phone is ringing on two different
lines, and now my monitor
is flickering and there is someone standing in my cube that wants my attention.
I stood up to talk to them
and stepped in my trash can which is now stuck on my boot. My
mouse only works if I bang it on the desk
every two minutes, the school is calling me to come and get one of my grand
kids who is sick and they
can't find anyone else and that reminds me that my wife is still waiting on
me, the tech support team is
blasting me with emails about a job that I wrote four years ago that has worked
perfectly until today, of
course, and now it is suddenly using ALL the CPU cycles on the server and they
want to know why, NOW!
My mechanical pencil just ran out of lead, I accidentally unplugged my headphones
while the volume
was all the way up and Lincoln Brewster was really cooking on "Everybody
Praise the Lord", I
dropped
my pencil under my desk and banged my head hard enough on the way up to make
me see stars, I
hung my shirt on a sharp edge on my desk and ripped it down one side.
